About The Nail Edit
The Nail Edit is an independent review site for people who do their own nails and pedicures at home. We test products, compare systems, and write guides based on real at-home experience — not press releases, not brand partnerships, and not the kind of vague advice that reads like it was written by someone who's never actually held an acrylic brush.
This site exists because most nail product reviews online are either thinly disguised ads or written by people who clearly haven't used the products they're recommending. We wanted something better: honest assessments from someone who's actually done dozens of at-home sets, dealt with every common problem, and can tell you what works, what doesn't, and what's a waste of money.
Our Mission
We help people skip the recurring cost of salon appointments and get genuinely good results at home. That means recommending affordable products that actually perform, writing tutorials that reflect the real learning curve (not the Instagram version), and being upfront when something isn't worth buying. If a $15 kit outperforms a $50 one, we'll say so.
How We Review Products
Every product featured on The Nail Edit is purchased at retail price. We do not accept free products from brands in exchange for reviews. Each product is tested through a minimum of three full wear cycles under normal daily conditions — typing, cooking, cleaning, gym workouts — before we form an opinion. We evaluate ease of application, durability, removal difficulty, and nail health after removal. If a product fails in testing, it doesn't make the site.
We participate in affiliate programs (primarily Amazon Associates), which means we earn a small commission when you buy through our links at no extra cost to you. This is how we fund the site. Affiliate relationships never influence which products we recommend or how we review them. Read our full affiliate disclosure and editorial policy for details.
